WHAT WE DO
At NSASA, our goal is to create CONNECTIONS.
Our dedication lies in crafting inclusive spaces at parks and special events, ensuring tailored support services enable families to fully engage without hindrance. Our aim is to cultivate a welcoming environment that embraces all, fostering a sense of belonging where everyone can freely revel in the joy and thrill of the moment.
Central to our mission is the belief that all families should partake in community gatherings without fear of isolation or judgment. Through nurturing empathy and understanding, we aspire to establish a culture of inclusivity that transcends individual occasions. Our vision is to construct a supportive network within the community, uniting families with autistic members to bond, exchange stories, and forge enduring connections in a setting that celebrates diversity and uniqueness.
The Connection is YOU™
OPPORTUNITIES IN COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Creating tailored support services for families and community members impacted by autism in Nassau and Suffolk counties is a crucial step towards fostering empowerment and collaboration. By organizing informative workshops and seminars, we can educate parents and caregivers on effective ways to provide support, ultimately strengthening the network of care.
Additionally, involving these individuals in advocacy efforts such as letter-writing campaigns and town hall meetings can amplify our impact and drive positive change within our communities. Through active involvement in autistic support initiatives, we have the opportunity to build a more inclusive environment that benefits both individuals on the spectrum and society at large.
We offer the opportunity for children/ adults with autism and their families to participate in recreational and social activities and events in the community. They can participate without fear of judgment and with support.
For example:
- Care Managers
- OT, PT, Speech Therapy
- Specialty services
- Physicians
- Treatment Programs
- Schools and day hab programs
